SDMO Generators For Sale

Available SDMO Diesel Generators for Prime and Standby Power

SDMO generators remain a familiar choice for organisations that need dependable commercial and industrial power. Bellwood Rewinds supplies SDMO and Kohler-SDMO diesel generators as new and used units become available, supporting applications from construction and agriculture to manufacturing, healthcare, data centres and emergency backup.

Our available stock includes silenced generator sets across several power outputs, with models suitable for prime power, standby power, and extended commercial operation. Because age, engine, controls, and specifications vary across the SDMO range, each generator should be assessed against the connected load, phase, duty, site conditions, and future power requirements.

Browse the SDMO generators below, or contact our engineering team for help comparing conditions, output, running hours, noise levels, and long-term support. We can also recommend an alternative generator where another model provides a better fit.

SDMO is the French company Société de Mécanique de l’Ouest, founded in 1966. The business later operated under the Kohler-SDMO and Kohler brand names before becoming Rehlko in 2024.

Because SDMO equipment has been supplied across many markets worldwide for many years, older generators may still carry SDMO or Kohler-SDMO branding. Model names, engines, controllers and specifications can also differ considerably, so identifying the exact unit from its nameplate and serial number is important before ordering parts or planning servicing.

SDMO generator sets were designed for commercial prime and standby applications, including installations where dependable power is especially important.

Reliability still depends on correct sizing, installation, loading, fuel quality and preventative maintenance, as well as the age and condition of an individual used unit. Regular inspections and servicing help maintain dependable operation and give engineers an opportunity to identify developing faults before they cause an unexpected failure.

The correct size depends on running and starting loads, phase, power factor, operating hours and future capacity. Engine and alternator combinations can vary across models; some historic SDMO sets used engines from manufacturers such as John Deere, depending on the specific generator model.

Bellwood can review your equipment schedule and recommend an appropriate kW or kVA rating. Our focus is on matching the available generator to the actual electrical load rather than assuming that two sets with similar headline ratings will perform identically.

Bellwood provides generator servicing, repairs and replacement parts for a wide range of generator systems. Supply depends on the model, serial number, engine, controller and component availability, so accurate generator details are important when requesting support.

When several new or used generators are available for comparison, a broader market inventory can make model identification especially important, as apparently similar SDMO units may use different components. Bellwood will strive to identify the correct configuration before recommending servicing requirements or replacement parts.

About Kohler SDMO Generators

SDMO was founded in France in 1966 and became widely recognised across Europe for generator sets and power systems. The business was renamed Kohler-SDMO in 2016, moved to the Kohler name in 2021 and became Rehlko in 2024. SDMO and Kohler-SDMO remain common names on existing generators, manuals, parts and buyer searches, which is why this category continues to use the established SDMO terminology.

Current and legacy equipment can differ considerably. Some generators carry SDMO branding, others Kohler-SDMO, while newer factory information may refer to Rehlko. Bellwood can help identify the generator by its model, serial number, and nameplate before advising on suitability, servicing, or replacement parts.
